More than 25 years of excellence in breeding and specializing in the versatile Portuguese Water Dog and English Springer Spaniel

Mariposa dogs over the years have earned in excess of 75 champion and performance titles in 15+ countries. 

Mariposa is a preservation breeder and AKC Breeder of Merit for both the English Springer Spaniel and Portuguese Water Dog.  We are members of the ESS and PWD Parent Clubs as well as officers of the Great Lakes PWD Club. David is a UKC all breed and Junior Showmanship Judge#7366.

We breed sound PWD and ESS with loving old-fashioned temperament. Our dogs exhibit exceptionally sound movement in the show ring, trainability, competence and intellect in performance activities, in demand for drug and bomb interdiction, SAR and medical alert abilities.

Our breeding dogs are registered with OFFA and PWDCA Health Databases.  Mariposa puppies are raised in the home, run in our woods and swim in our pond.  Contact Us about our future breeding plans. We stand 100% behind every puppy.

We are planning on having one to two litters in 2023. Waitlist is OPEN for these litters.
